Early keyboard specialist

Alex Mastichiadis is an international musician specializing in historical keyboard instruments of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. He is a Ph.D. candidate at the Ionian University and teaches clavichord at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.An active soloist and ensemble musician on harpsichord, clavichord, and organ, he performs regularly across Europe, with appearances in Austria, Sweden, Cyprus, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, Slovenia, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Greece. He collaborates with ensembles such as Armonia Atenea, Latinitas Nostra, and Ex Silentio, and has appeared numerous times at the Greek National Opera. As a soloist, he has performed at the Megaron Concert Halls in Athens and Thessaloniki. As an orchestral musician, he has recorded for labels including DECCA and MDG, and is currently preparing his first solo recording with Brilliant Classics.He is a founding member of the recently nominated Eeemerging Nocturnalia Ensemble, with which he is actively involved as a performer and artistic collaborator.In addition to his work in Early Music, Alex is also active as a sound artist. Through interdisciplinary projects and recordings, he explores the intersection of experimental music and historical performance practice. He collaborates with artists such as MMMD and is a founding member of the Supersonic Elephant Club, an ensemble combining harpsichord, live electronics, and electric guitar in drone music contexts. Recordings from these projects include L’âge de l’absolutisme (2021) and s.e.c. (2022).He completed his Master’s degree with honors at the Utrecht Conservatory, where he studied harpsichord and clavichord with Siebe Henstra and organ with Reitze Smits, and has also worked with Fabio Bonizzoni.
